Chicken Holder Review

You don't know good until you taste fresh rotisserie bird. Not sitting on the shelf for an hour super market fresh but right off the grill fresh.

I own two of these and use them on my Twin Eagles grill. It fits the hex shaped larger diameter rod. With this chicken holder, you do not need to truss up the chicken. Keeps it simple. My best recipe is to rub the skin with olive oil and season with salt and pepper once the rotisserie starts to turn. The basic salt and pepper works better than any fancy seasoning. Chickens seem to take an hour and a half. My 14lb turkey took 4 hours. I usually slightly over cook the bird but prefer how the bird falls apart. With rotisserie, the meat does not get dry. Wrap a small log in foil and put it near the burner.

This Thanksgiving, I bent the holder apart and used this to rotisserie a 14 pound turkey (wings removed). This was used in the front and prongs in the back of the bird. Best turkey yet.

Used the stone both on the grill and in the oven it was great! Had a cookout and everyone wanted to make their own personalized pizza. Stone is bit heavy but heats evenly.

My husband mentioned it would be cool to make pizzas on the grill so when I saw this I thought it was the best Fathers Day gift. We have used this EVERY weekend since. The temperature gauge makes it easy to see when you are ready to cook. Using the grill means less heat in the house from the oven (which taks a lot longer to heat up than the grill)and less electricity. This is a high quality product that I would highly recommend.

This was a gift to my son who has now used it several times. He has grilled chicken and pork chops and finds that it does a good job of grilling but it's necessary to use high heat throughout the entire cooking process, not just to sear the food. He has been very pleased with the flavor of the results, and has to use only a tiny amount of oil brushed on the pan to prevent food from sticking. He says that the pan is easy to clean with a plastic scrubber, despite the fact that the use of constant high heat causes some burning on of juices. He loves it!

This pan was a wedding gift 2 years ago, and its probably one of the items I use most. But things do stick to it. And it is always a pain to clean. Plus I noticed the other day that the bottom pan has actually warped. I have no idea why.

On the plus side: The 11inch size is fantastic, I grill food for my husband and I as well as for parties all on this one pan. My mother was very impressed when I made dinner for 6 people for her birthday just using this one grill pan. I made carne asada for 6 people, and grilled zucchini and peaches as a side dish. Of course it had to be done in 3 shifts, but things cook very quickly and as long as you cover the veggies so that they don't loose too much heat while you are cooking the other items you will be just fine.

That said, I do wish I could find one that is less inclined to stick to food and is easier to clean. Anyway, that's my too cents as someone who has had this pan for a while.
